Abstract

A three-dimensional fabrication device 10 comprises: a lamination roller 31 that is configured as rotatable and provided at a predetermined height above a supply table 42 and a fabrication table 52; a drive device 33 that rotates the lamination roller 31; and a movement device 20 that moves the lamination roller 31 at least between over the supply table 42 and over the fabrication table 52. The three-dimensional fabrication device 10 moves the lamination roller 31 at least from over the supply table 42 to over the fabrication table 52, and forms a layer 210 of a powder material 200 upon the fabrication table 52. Abstract

The present invention reduces the burden and increases the efficiency of work of recovering a powder material from a shaping tank and returning same to a supply tank. A three-dimensional shaping apparatus 100 includes: a shaping tank 20 in which a three-dimensional shaped object 92 is shaped; a shaping table 24; a supply tank 30 that supplies a powder material 90; and a first screen 80 that is disposed in the shaping tank 20 and extends more upward than an upper position of the shaping table 24. When the shaping table 24 rises after the end of shaping of the three-dimensional shaped object 92, the powder material 90 rises to a comparatively high position while a spill thereof is prevented by the first screen 80. A worker can easily return the powder material 90 to the supply tank 30 by pushing the powder material 90 in one direction of the horizontal direction. The foregoing eliminates the need of work of lifting a scoop or the like from inside the shaping tank 20.

Abstract

A test image printer of an inkjet printer causes a test image, including a mark with a predefined shape and usable to correct an image captured by an image capturing device, and a test pattern usable to inspect a plurality of nozzles, to be printed on a recording medium. An image capture controller controls the image capturing device to capture an image of the test image printed on the recording medium. A corrector compares the image of the mark captured by the image capturing device, to the predefined shape of the mark, to calculate a correction value, and corrects the image of the test pattern, captured by the image capturing device, based on the calculated correction value. An inspector inspects the plurality of nozzles based on the image of the test pattern corrected by the corrector.

Abstract

[Problem] To provide an inkjet printer capable of minimizing wear of an absorber or a wiper due to removal of wiper ink, and preventing harmful effects caused by resultant wear debris. [Solution] As a wiper 8 in a standby position is lifted by a lifting/lowering mechanism 6, an upper surface of the wiper 8 is brought into contact with an absorber 32 disposed over the standby position, and wiper ink attached to the upper surface of the wiper 8 is absorbed by the absorber 32. As a result, the wiper ink is removed. During this time, the wiper 8 and the absorber 32 do not rub against each other, thus minimizing wear of the wiper 8 and the absorber 32. Abstract

An inkjet printer includes an ink head, a carriage, and a first discharge controller. The ink head discharges photo-curable ink onto a recording medium. The ink head includes a colored ink nozzle group to discharge colored photo-curable ink, and a transparent ink nozzle group to discharge transparent photo-curable ink. The carriage is equipped with the ink head. The first discharge controller is configured or programmed to, when either one of the carriage and the recording medium makes a single movement, cause the colored ink nozzle group and the transparent ink nozzle group to discharge the colored photo-curable ink and the transparent photo-curable ink, respectively, onto a predetermined region so as to form a colored image and a texture image. The texture image includes the colored photo-curable ink and the transparent photo-curable ink that overlap with each other.

Abstract

A printing apparatus includes a carriage, a carriage mover including a motor to move the carriage, a motor controller configured to control the motor, a power supply configured to selectively apply a first voltage or a second voltage to the motor controller, the second voltage being higher than the first voltage, and a transmitter to transmit a control signal for movement of the carriage when a predetermined control condition is satisfied. The first voltage is a voltage enabling the motor controller to move the carriage at a first speed by the motor. The second voltage is a voltage enabling the motor controller to move the carriage at a second speed by the motor, the second speed being higher than the first speed. The power supply applies the first voltage to the motor controller in a state where the transmitter transmits the control signal.

Abstract

An inkjet printer includes a first ink head, an ink collector, and an intermittent flushing controller. The first ink head includes a first sub-head that includes a first nozzle to discharge first ink, a second sub-head that includes a second nozzle to discharge second ink different from the first ink, and a nozzle surface provided with the first nozzle and the second nozzle. The ink collector collects the ink discharged from the first ink head. The intermittent flushing controller performs an intermittent flushing operation for at least the first sub-head. The intermittent flushing operation involves repeating a first operation and a second operation for a predetermined number of iterations. The first operation involves discharging the first ink into the ink collector from the first nozzle a predetermined number of times. The second operation involves being on standby for a predetermined time without discharging the first ink from the first nozzle.

Abstract

A printer includes a platen on which a recording medium is placed, an ink head including a nozzle that discharges ink onto the recording medium placed on the platen and that moves in a main scanning direction, an upstream guide located on an upstream side of the platen in a secondary scanning direction and that guides the recording medium, the upstream guide including an upper surface tilted obliquely downward from a downstream side to the upstream side in the secondary scanning direction, and grit rollers provided in the platen and that move the recording medium in the secondary scanning direction. The upstream guide is recessed from the upper surface of the upstream guide, and includes a concave recess that indicates a position of each of the grit rollers in the main scanning direction so that a position of the grit roller is easily acknowledged when the recording medium is placed on the platen.

Abstract

A photo-curing inkjet printer includes a bed, a discharger, a light applicator, and a conveyor. The bed includes a printable region defined in advance. A substrate is placed on the bed. The discharger discharges photo-curable ink. The light applicator applies light. The conveyor conveys one of the bed and the discharger relative to the other one of the bed and the discharger in a conveyance direction. The discharger includes a row of nozzles aligned in the conveyance direction. The nozzles discharge the photo-curable ink. A length of the bed measured from a start end of the bed to a start end of the printable region is longer in the conveyance direction than a length calculated by subtracting a maximum pass width from a length of the row of nozzles of the discharger.

Abstract

A cutting head-including printer includes at least one driving roller, a pair of side pinch rollers, a center pinch roller provided between the pair of side pinch rollers, and a roller moving mechanism that causes the center pinch roller to approach, or to be separated from, the at least one driving roller. The cutting head-including printer sets whether to perform cutting after printing or to perform the printing after the cutting. During the cutting performed after the printing, the cutting head-including printer separates the center pinch roller from the at least one driving roller. During the cutting performed before the printing, the cutting head-including printer locates the center pinch roller at a position where the center pinch roller holds a recording medium together with the at least one driving roller.

Abstract

A printing apparatus includes a feeder that feeds a medium in a feeding direction, a head including a row of nozzles arranged side by side in the feeding direction and movable in a scanning direction, an irradiator that radiates light onto a region longer in the feeding direction than the nozzle row and that is movable in the scanning direction together with the head, and a controller that alternatingly causes the head to move in the scanning direction and concurrently the nozzles to discharge ink while causing the irradiator to radiate the light, and the feeder to feed the medium in the feeding direction. The controller is capable of dividing the nozzle row into an upstream-side nozzle row and a downstream-side nozzle row located on a downstream side in the feeding direction from the upstream-side nozzle row, and individually controlling discharge of ink from the nozzles of each of the upstream-side nozzle row and the downstream-side nozzle row. The controller is capable of dividing the irradiator into an upstream-side irradiator, an intermediate irradiator adjacent to the upstream-side irradiator on a downstream side in the feeding direction, and a printless region irradiator adjacent to the intermediate irradiator on a downstream side in the feeding direction, and individually controlling lighting and extinguishing of each of the irradiators defined by the division.
