Abstract

The present technology relates to a reception device, reception method, and program capable of providing an application program executed in conjunction with audiovisual content. A control unit acquires trigger information, implements control using a command acquired from the acquired trigger information as a basis to acquire a data broadcast app from an app server on the internet or refer to an FDT identified by an SMT and NRT-IT and acquire a data broadcast app transmitted as the NRT content of an NRT service using a FLUTE session, and controls the operation of the acquired data broadcast app according to the command acquired from the acquired trigger information. Abstract

This technology pertains to a receiving device, a receiving method, a program and an information-processing system which are capable of providing an application program that is executed in conjunction with AV content. A trigger extraction unit extracts trigger information that is transmitted along with received AV content, and includes time information for causing a data-broadcasting application to operate at a prescribed time. A TPT analysis unit obtains a command for controlling the operation of the data-broadcasting application, and a TPT associated with the period of validity of the command. A control unit controls the operation of the data-broadcasting application according to the valid command, when the time expressing the progression of the AV content and obtained from the time information included in the extracted trigger information falls within the period of validity of the command, on the basis of the obtained TPT. Abstract

The detail and clarity of high-definition video content may be enhanced by a display device or client-side device before being displayed. In certain embodiments, the high-definition video image frames may be upsampled by scaling the image's resolution. The now-upsampled HD video image frames may then be low pass filtered so as to concentrate the image's energy distribution into a tighter range of frequencies. The filtered HD video image frames may then be sub-sampled back down, such as to the original HD image's frame resolution, or other HD-level resolution, without compromising image detail. In this fashion, the clarity and detail level in video content, even though already considered of a high-definition quality, may be further improved.

An apparatus and method for a multi-tier wireless home mesh network is described. The method may include authentication of a node within a wireless home networking environment after discovering a wireless home mesh network. The authentication comprises (1) transmitting a first message, the first message including (i) an encrypted pass- phrase being a pass-phrase encrypted with a public key of the node of the wireless home mesh network, (n) a checksum of the encrypted pass-phrase, (in) a public key of the wireless node, and (iv) a checksum of the public key of the wireless node, and (2) receiving a second message, the second message including a code to indicate whether the wireless node has been successfully authenticated along with the challenge text verification process to ensure the message was not tampered or sent by another node. A method of scanning television channels at initial setup. The method includes at a first power mode, automatically scanning for channels using a first scanning setup procedure during which the television is unusable by a user. The first power mode is when the television is at a full power mode. The detected channels are automatically provided for use by the television upon completion of the first scanning setup procedure. The method further includes automatically scanning for channels using a second scanning setup procedure at a second power mode following the first power mode.
