Abstract

A rotating X-ray anode for generating X-radiation has an annular main body made of carbon-based material, an annular focal track covering, which is arranged on a focal track side of the main body, and a metal connection component, which is arranged radially inside relative to the main body. A radially outer portion of the connection component is formed by a tubular metal adapter. The radial outside surface of the adapter is at least partly joined, face to face and integrally, to at least a portion of the radial inside surface of the main body. An integral joining zone between the main body and the adapter extends over at least 75 percent of the area of the radial inside surface of the main body.

Abstract

A focusing tube is configured to focus a high-pressure liquid jet containing abrasive particles. The focusing tube has a focusing duct portion and an exit opening for the free discharge of the liquid jet from the focusing duct portion. A center point of the discharge opening coincides with the longitudinal axis of the focusing duct portion. The focusing duct portion is delimited by a liquid-impermeable channel wall, extends from the discharge opening at a focusing taper angle and is tapered toward the discharge opening. The focusing taper angle lies in a range from 0.05° to 1°. This allows the service life of the focusing tube to be increased in a way that is simple in terms of design.

Abstract

The invention relates to a milling tool (100) having: a main tool body (10) which has a rotational axis (Z) about which the milling tool rotates in a predefined rotation direction (R) during operation and a plurality of seats (1) for receiving cutting inserts (6). The seats (1) are arranged at irregular angular intervals (α, ß, y) from one another around the circumference of the main tool body (10). The main tool body (10) has chip spaces (2) assigned to each of the seats (1), outer faces (3) arranged behind the respective seats (1) in the circumferential direction in relation to the rotation direction (R), and intermediate faces (4) arranged in the circumferential direction between the outer faces (3) and the chip space (2) of the seat (1) following in the rotation direction. The intermediate faces (4) each extend along the surface of a shaping face (F). The shaping face (F) of an intermediate face (4) can be brought, by rotation through predefined angles (α', ß', y') on a path around the rotational axis (R), to bear against the respective other intermediate faces (4) such that the latter extend along the surface of said shaping face (F). The predefined angles (α', ß', y') are different from the angular intervals (α, ß, y).

Abstract

A cutting element is configured such that it may be used to cut grass stalks or other organic stalk materials in a vegetation area. The cutting element has a main body formed from a main body material and cutting bodies formed on opposite sides of the main body which have a longer service life in the region of the cutting body relative to the prior art. At least one of the cutting bodies is formed by a cutting body material which is distinct from the main body material, is sintered and is harder than the main body material. The sintered cutting body material is formed by a hard metal or cermet and the higher hardness thereof is based on hard material particles present therein.

Abstract

A cutting tool for severing a non-metallic material includes a holding element and a cutting element held on the holding element for cutting contact with the non-metallic material. A boundary region adjoins a holding material region of the holding element and a cutting material region of the cutting element. The precise severing of, for example, bone materials of human or animal origin, is possible in that a deformation resistance against an elastic deformation of the holding material region is greater than a deformation resistance against an elastic deformation of the cutting material region.

Abstract

A double-sided cutting insert for milling has a first cutting edge formed at a transition from a top side to a circumferential lateral surface and a second cutting edge formed at a transition from a bottom side to the circumferential lateral surface. A reference plane (R) runs normal to an axis of symmetry (S). The cutting edges have main cutting edge portions and face cutting edge portions arranged in alternation, which extend between raised cutting corners and lowered cutting corners. The circumferential lateral surface has face free surfaces, which extend along the face cutting edge portion and which approach the axis of symmetry (S) with increasing distance from the associated face cutting edge portion. The circumferential lateral surface has main free surfaces, which extend along the main cutting edge portion and which move farther away from the axis of symmetry with increasing distance from the associated main cutting edge portion.

Abstract

A clamping device is configured to clamp a cutting insert onto a holder of a cutting tool. The clamping device contains a clamping bolt and a locking bolt, wherein the clamping bolt is configured to be inserted into each of the cutting insert and the holder. The locking bolt is configured to be inserted into the holder, such that the locking bolt pre-strains the clamping bolt into clamping the cutting insert onto the holder. The clamping bolt is configured rotatable about a longitudinal clamping axis of the clamping bolt relative to each of the cutting insert and the locking bolt, such that the clamping bolt wedge engages with the locking bolt during a clamping bolt rotation about the longitudinal clamping axis.

Abstract

A coated tool has a substrate and a hard material coating deposited on the substrate. The hard material coating has a layer structure in the following order, starting from the substrate: a titanium nitride layer, a titanium boron nitride transition layer, and a titanium diboride layer. The titanium boron nitride transition layer has a boron content that increases from the titanium nitride layer in the direction of the titanium diboride layer. The boron content does not exceed 15 at %.
